This time of year is always special. The holidays are cresting, the New Year is just kicking off and, if you’re in a colder part of the country, winter has settled its cold but beautiful snowy hand on the landscape.

As enchanting as that all might be, this time of year is very special here at Strictly Slots magazine for a completely different reason. After many months of hard work and preparation the time has come when we can announce the results of the long-awaited annual Best Of Slots awards! Finally, after tallying many, many thousands of votes we get to reveal to both our readers and the entire gambling world this year’s selections for the nation’s best casinos for slots and video poker.

As with our previous “Best Of” awards issues, our readers thoughtfully and dutifully selected their favorite gaming properties from region to region, across a wide selection of slots categories. These categories cover the heart and soul of slots and video poker gaming, including multiple denominations, properties with the best variety of games, casinos that offer the best rewards, best comps and best players cards, and more—all the way up to your selections for the Best Overall Casino. Through your efforts we’re able to identify the best of the best in gambling, offering valuable insight to other players and helping to shape the future of the gaming industry. For that, we are very grateful!

This year, we did something a little different, too. To accommodate the ever-growing number of racinos across the country, we expanded the “Racino” section considerably to fully cover these properties according to their region, instead of just a blanket category with winners spread out, disjointed and stretched thin. This shift allows us to include even more top properties and to paint a more accurate picture of the different racinos from region to region. We hope you like the change.

I’d also like to offer a sincere thank you to two of the best writers for Strictly Slots magazine, Frank Legato and John Grochowski. While our staff waded through forms and online submission and tallied the votes, it was John and Frank who fit the pieces together perfectly. Together they wrote each section, covering everything from the how’s and why’s of the favorite game selections to regional property descriptions, and in some cases the local history of gambling. It’s a long and arduous task that we simply could not do without their herculean efforts.

Before closing out my final letter of 2015, I wanted to say thank you to all of our readers for continuing to turn to Strictly Slots as your guide to the latest gambling news and information. It’s been one heck of a year for us all, full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and winning and losing—hopefully more wins, than losses. It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s also been a lot fun.

From everyone at Casino Player Publishing, Happy Holidays! Here’s wishing us all an even better 2016!
