Ghosts and Goblins to Scare Up a Jackpot

By Sean Chaffin

With Halloween around the corner, many gamblers might be planning a late-October outing to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, or some other casino destination. If Halloween is one of your favorite times of the year, there are numerous slot machines to fit the bill – from werewolves and ghosts to zombies and killers. Here’s a look at some creepy, crawly cash opportunities.

  • Ghosts and Spirits – There are certainly no shortage of games in this category. Ghost Wilds is a traditional slot machine with plenty of creepy sound effects and music. In Ghost Island, our brave paranormal adventurers explore an island inhabited by spirits. Icons include a camera and binoculars, so these ghosts must at least be visible. Undeterred players are hoping they see plenty of winnings. Ghost in the Machine offers a bit more with several specters and phantasms to try and scare players away. Feeling a bit too creeped out? Look for a Casper machine – he’s the friendly ghost.

  • Scary Animals and Creatures – Try and avoid bloodthirsty beasts when spinning those reels in Werewolf Wild. Or maybe you’re ready to battle the undead in Zombie Outbreak? Earn the bonus game to shoot it out with some creepy walkers – or better yet, use a flamethrower. Defeat them and earn some big bucks for your efforts.

In The Mummy, players can unlock the Treasure Tomb for a shot at some big loot provided they can get past the creatures guarding the crypt. Of course, a big jackpot will have you saying: “Show me the mummy.”

  • Killers and Humans Gone Wrong – Scatter Magic offers plenty of Halloween staples – witches, black cats, spiders, bats, owls, jack-o-lanterns, and even a creepy haunted house. Halloween features plenty of those as well, along with some villainous vampires. Hopefully they don’t suck your bankroll dry.

Frankenstein is featured in several slot games. It’s a good bet author Mary Shelley never envisioned her character spinning around a slot machine when she wrote her famous novel in 1818. She wrote the book at age 18 and it was published when she was 20 – not old enough to even gamble in most states today. Other interesting options in this category include Vampire’s Embrace, Elvira, Kiss of the Vampire, Red Moon Full Eclipse, and House of Fun. Rock and roll fans will want to check out Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper this Halloween.

There’s even a Nightmare on Elm Street slot game – just don’t let Freddy slice up your winnings. Tired of all the ghosts and creepy crawlies? Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters, the slot machine. Join the team as you rid the world of those pesky poltergeists, hopefully with plenty of cash coming your way. Happy Halloween!
