MGM Reveals Ambitious Plan for MGM Empire City
Pending Full-Scale License, Yonkers Casino to Undergo Major Transformation
MGM Resorts International has presented its vision to rebrand Empire City Casino into MGM Empire City, contingent on securing a commercial casino license. The proposal includes a redesigned casino floor, a 5,000-capacity entertainment venue, a BetMGM sportsbook and new dining options. With the license, MGM Empire City aims to be a premier entertainment hub featuring live-dealer table games and high-limit gaming. The plan encompasses a modern steakhouse, quick-serve Italian American and an Asian noodle bar. Expected outcomes involve economic growth, job creation and an enhanced local entertainment scene. Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano views it as a transformative opportunity, while Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts CEO, foresees unprecedented experiences and economic prosperity for the region.
